If you are receiving one of the following error messages and are unable to resolve it with basic browser troubleshooting, follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
Error messages could include:
- Unable to load pen colors
- Project retrieval error
- Custom materials warning
- Projects not loading
- Several other red banner errors
Step 1: Exit Design Space Bridge and relaunch
- Click on the Cricut Design Space icon in your system tray and choose "Exit" (Windows) or "Quit" (Mac).
- End the CricutBridge process in the Task Manager or Activity Monitor.

Windows Computers
- To access the Task Manager, right-click on your Task Bar and select "Start Task Manager" or Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then select "Start Task Manager." The Task Manager window will appear.
- Select the Processes tab and scan the list for any CricutBridge.exe process. If it does appear in the list, select it by clicking on it once, and then click End Process in the lower right corner of the Task Manager Window, or right-click on it and select End Process.

Mac Computers
- Click on the Finder icon in your dock. Click Applications on the sidebar of the Finder window. In this folder, double-click the "Utilities" folder. Double-click the Activity Monitor icon.
- Locate "Cricut Launcher" in the list of apps, click the arrow next to Cricut Launcher to expand it and find CricutBridge. Select CricutBridge by clicking on it once, and then click on the X in the upper left to force-quit the application.

- Clear your browser history, cache and cookies.
- Re-launch Design Space using the Design Space icon on your computer desktop (Windows) or through the Applications folder (Mac).
If the issue is not resolved, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Clear your DNS cache
Select your platform for step by step instructions.
- Navigate to the Windows 10 desktop.
- Right-click on the Start menu and choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
- Type in the command ipconfig /flushdns in the Command prompt window that appears.
- The system will run the command and let you know when it has successfully flushed the cache.
- Type exit to close the Command Prompt.
- Then return to https://design.cricut.com and attempt your session again. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to step 3.
- Begin on the Windows Start screen.
- Type cmd and the Windows search bar will appear on the right side with search results.
- Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Type the command ipconfig /flushdns in the Command Prompt window that appears.
- The system will run the command and let you know when it has successfully flushed the cache.
- Type exit to close the Command Prompt.
- Then return to https://design.cricut.com and attempt your session again. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to step 3.
- Select the Start button, then navigate to the command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt). You can also type cmd into the Windows Start search field and right-click on the cmd.exe result instead of navigating through the sub menus.
- Right click on the Command Prompt application and choose Run as administrator.
- Type the command ipconfig /flushdns in the Command Prompt window that appears.
- The system will run the command and let you know when it has successfully flushed the cache.
- Type exit to close the Command Prompt.
- Then return to https://design.cricut.com and attempt your session again. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to step 3.
macOS Sierra (10.12) and above
Important: To complete the steps below, you will need to know the computer's administrator password.
- Open Applications folder.
- Select Utilities.
- Select Terminal. The command terminal will appear.
- Enter the following command and hit the Enter key:
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder - Enter the computer administrator password to continue. If the command succeeds, the system will not return any output. Simply exit the Terminal utility.
- Then return to https://design.cricut.com and attempt your session again. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Configure your network settings to use Google Public DNS
Follow these steps to use Google's public DNS settings.
Important: be sure to enter the new DNS settings in the appropriate DNS address fields. Donot enter new settings in the IP address fields.
